Babylon Soundgarden 2013

Babylon Soundgarden bir kez daha şehre kendine has sesleri vaad ediyor. 

Parkorman’da günü reggae’nin Türkçe yapılabileceğini ispatlamaya çalışan Sattas açacak. BaBaZuLa ise bu coğrafyadan çıkan ezgileri elektronik hale getirdiği eklektik tarzıyla ortamı hareketlendirecek. İlhan Erşahin’in kendi deyimiyle “İstanbul’un gece hayatının bir şekilde tanımlanması”nı yapan İlhan Erşahin’s Istanbul Sessions festival katılımcılarını geceye hazırlayacak. Roman tınıları taşıyan “ska-beat”leriyle Molotov Jukebox, festivalde eğlenceyi ateşleyecek. Gogol Bordello ile birlikte cabaret/gypsy rock/punk müziğin en önemli temsilcilerinden biri olan DeVotchKa, festivalin enerjisini en tepe noktaya çıkaracak. Kings of Convenience ise gecenin kapanışını festival kalabalığını “koyu” İstanbul gecesini huzurla dinlemeye davet ederek festivali kapatacak.

Alternatif Sahne’de ise günün en önemli ismi beatbox mucizelerinden Beardyman olacak. Red Bull Müzik Akademisi’nin sunduğu bu sahnede hip hop ve dupstep ağırlıklı bir program gün boyu parti çağrısı yapacak. Ayrıca İstanbul kulüp ve radyo dinleyicisinin yakından tanıdığı Ahmet Musluoğlu, Murat Beşer ve Mehmet Tez gibi isimler gün boyu Parti Sahnesi’nde müzik yapacaklar.

25 Mayıs 2013 tarihinde İstanbul ParkOrman’da gerçekleşecek Babylon Soundgarden Festivali’nde görüşmek üzere...

Müzik Festivalleri

Yaz mevsimi baslıyor… Bu yaz Turkiye’de cok sayıda muzik festivali gerceklesecek. Hangisine/(lerine) katılayım derken arastırmaya girismis bulundum, ve bir liste yaptım. Yaptıgım listeyi sizlerle paylasıyorum. Listelemeye Turkiye’dekilerle baslamıstım, ama kendimi yurtdısındakileri kontrol etmekten alamadım.

Bu yıl Avrupa’yı turlayan buyuk isimlerin neredeyse hepsi Turkiye’yi de ziyaret edecek gibi gorunuyor. Bunların en basında Marilyn Manson, the Smashing Pumpkins, Dream Theatre, Beastie Boys ve Franz Ferdinand geliyor… Umarım eglenceli ve yuksek kaliteli konserler gerceklesir.

Halen hangilerine gidecegime kesin karar vermedim, ama gecen yıl oldugu gibi bu yıl da Sziget agır basıyor gibi… Tool ve Ninch Inch Nails faktoru…

Yasaklı Şarkılar Tarihine Kısa Bir Bakış / A Short History of Censored and Banned Songs

Yasaklı Şarkıların Kısa Tarihi

Roll Dergisi’nin eski bir sayısından “roll”ladığım bilgiler aslında müziğin ve popüler kültürün son 50 yılda nereden nereye geldiğinin çok güzel bir özetini yapıyor.

İngiltere özelinde gerçekleştirilen bu yasaklar son 50 yılda özellikle rock sanatçıları tarafından değerlerin nasıl bir değişime tabi tutulduğunun bildirgesi işlevini görüyor.

Radyo, televizyon ve internetin sırasıyla liderliği birbirlerine devrettikleri popüler kültür çağlarının sonunda şu anda eskiye göre çok büyük ilerlemeler sağlanmış olmasına rağmen yasaklamak baki kaldı.

Din, azınlıklar, cinsellik ve cinsel yönelim hala tabu olarak görülüyor. Argo dil kullanımı sanki yok sanılıyor. Reklâmın ise artık gizlisi, açığı, saklısı tartışması ortadan kalktı; her tarafımız reklâm doldu.

Günümüzde yeni yasaklama ve korkutma türleri ortaya çıktı. Söz gelimi artık işimize gelmeyen video yayınlandığını görünce youtube’a kendi insanlarımızın erişimi yasaklayıverebiliyoruz. Biz onu görmeyince video yok oldu sanıyoruz.

Hatta daha uygun olduğunu düşündüğümüz yollar da bulabiliyoruz. Eğitim sistemini eleştiren ve bunu şarkı yoluyla yaparak youtube vasıtasıyla paylaşan gençlere “deli” 18 aylık hapis cezasını reva görebiliyoruz. İşte gelişme budur… Hepimize hayırlı olsun…

John was not just a simple young musician. He was a man that wanted to change the world for good. He was in my age when he tried to change... He dreamt of a better life in a peaceful, friendly world. Remembering Jim Morrison / Jim Morrison'ı hatırlamak...

James Douglas "Jim" Morrison, (December 8, 1943 – July 3, 1971)

I remember the first time I listened him singing. I remember his exceptional voice, full of emotions and intensity. I remember the high sense of blowing out. I remember his incomparable lust for violence, sex, alcohol, drugs, self-destruction, anything forbidden for any reason by the conservative society.

He came up with courage to outscore the authority of conservative middle class America and succeed. Millions of fans around the world are the witness of his success. He followed the motto "The road of excess leads to the palace of wisdom –William Blake" and succeed in all means.

I still remember the gorgeous day that I visited his grave in Pére Lachaise cemetary in Paris. I sang the famous “Light my fire” and “people are strange” with fans from Brazil, Sweden, USA, and Poland. I even remained my sign there with quote from "people are strange".

I still believe that "If the doors of perception were cleansed / All things would appear infinite", dear Lizard King…
