FINLAND... Countries I have been...

Helsinki at night

We usually make that stupid joke to the people of Finland, when they say their nationality... "So are you finished?"... After 10 days of visiting their country, I think they have too many things to be proud of. Even if long daylight was an ultimate experience for me, I liked the country much. You can start drinking at 15:00 and you can still go on drinking at 23:30 in the daylight, if it is May...
Well, I admit that sometimes I felt that the structure was too much. The rules are strictly applied, and I felt that I do not have free space for myself; as everything is already regulated. The system provides security and prosperity for the citizens, but takes excessive freedom from them.
Helsinki is a beautiful city with very clean streets, beautiful parks... I even witnessed some new squad houses... Young people are trying to play with the huge system as much as they can.
In the end I loved the people of Finland. I am glad for that, as I live for getting to know more people and interact. I suppose it is quite easy to understand regarding the fact that Finland has 12 female ministers and female president...

Finland, see you again soon...

Turkey NOW!

Turkey Now Festival is in the Netherlands this year!

"Turkey Now" is a journey offering a selection of Turkey's cultural scene. After the editions in Berlin and Stuttgart, "Turkey Now" Festival has the 3rd edition in the Netherlands this year.
"Turkey Now" presents more than 20 events at 8 venues in Amsterdam and Rotterdam for 3 months including classical music, jazz, world music, theatre, dance and cinema.

This year the slogan is "it's good for the soul". Indeed i agree all of those artists are good for the soul!. Festival has a very compherensive program featuring some of my favourite Turkish artists such as Sezen Aksu, Fazıl Say, athena, Hüsnü Şenlendirici, Ayse Tütüncü, mercan dede and kardeş türküler.

Do not miss the one and only concerts of those unique artists; Hüsnü Şenlendirici Ensemble in De Doelen and Tropentheatre on 10/02 and 11/02, Ayşe Tütüncü Trio in bimhuis on 16/02, athena in de melkweg on 21/02, + mercan dede & ceza in bimhuis on 09/03.

Tickets can be purchased in Uitburo.

I wish you great times with Turkish art...
