Izmir lived jazz...
There was the 14th edition of the European Jazz Festival in Izmir between 3 and 14 March 2007.The festival is consisted of jazz artists from France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Italy and Turkey every year. Concerts, workshops, seminar and movie screenings are held every year.
This year Hi-Jazz/Hicaz, Falb Fiction, Mina Agossi, Musica Dal Vivo, and Holger Mantey were the participating artists in 2007.
Unfortunately I just had the opportunity to be in the last concert that was given by Holger Mantey. The German pianist played very interesting movements for one and a half hour. Most pieces were written by him. He was a very talkative guy with a great heart. It was an interesting experience...
